- After his playing career ended, Scott was hired as an assistant coach for the IHL Atlanta Knights, beginning a long career in the coaching business. He was hired as the head coach of the Roanoke Express on June 27, 1998, coaching the club for two seasons (winning the Norttheast Division both years) before his contract was not renewed during the summer of 2000.
