WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING:

"A big goalie, Krahn posted outstanding numbers in his rookie season with Calgary of the WHL. Has good lateral movement for his size and covers a lot of the net. Had a solid showing at the CHL Prospects Game. Will have time to develop with Vernon and Brathwaite in Calgary. Could potentially be the Flames' goalie of the future." (The Sports Forecaster 2000-01, p. 167)

"Season-ending knee surgery put an end to an up-and-down season for Krahn, who replaces the departed Jean-Sebastien Giguere as Calgary's goaltender of the future. A student of the game who frequently broke down the playing styles of NHL goalies as they passed through Calgary, Krahn is the prototypical modern goalie. He's big, covers a lot of net and at times has been the difference between his team winning and losing. Krahn has a big upside, but is considered to be three to five years away from realizing it." (Eric Duhatschek, The Hockey News Future Watch 2001)

"Krahn kept his Hitmen in many a game last year and remains a potential star goalie at the NHL level. Suffered a season-ending knee injury in the second half. He plays a strong technical game with great reflexes." (The Sports Forecaster 2001-02, p. 173)

"Two injury-filled seasons have set back development consderably." (Eric Duhatschek, The Hockey News Future Watch 2002)

"Krahn's development has been hindered by knee injuries the past couple years. He may return to the Hitmen this fall to allow him the most playing time given that Levente Szuper and Dany Sabourin are the obvious choices for Saint John. He still has the size and technique that made him a Top 10 pick. The Flames will be patient with Krahn as Roman Turek will backup the big club for the foreseeable future." (The Sports Forecaster 2002-03, p.167)

"The No. 9 overall selection in the 2000 NHL draft is still on Calgary's long-term radar. However, he played his first full season in the AHL only last year and may need more development time - especially since he'd sit a lot as Miikka Kiprusoff's NHL backup. Still, Krahn will battle Philippe Sauve in training camp." (The Sports Forecaster 2005-06, p. 102)
