The record was set in 1942-43 by Buffalo's Gordie Bell. Labbe and Bell shared the record until
Hartford's Jason LaBarbera bested them in 2003-04.
FIRSTS:
- Jean-Francois earned his first National Hockey League win on March 11, 2002. After being called up to the Columbus Blue Jackets when Marc Denis was injured, Jean-Francois started his first game in neighbouring Pittsburgh against the Penguins and Johan Hedberg. Labbe made thirty-four saves in a 4-2 win over the Pens, allowing second-period goals to Alexei Morozov and Alexei Kovalev.
DID YOU KNOW?
- Jean-Francois became the second AHL goaltender of the 1999-2000 season to score when he shot the puck into the opponent's net with just 37 seconds remaining in the game as the Hartford Wolf Pack defeated the Quebec Citadelles, 6-3. The Citadelles had pulled goaltender Mathieu Garon to provide the advantage of an extra attacker, February 5, 2000.
