- On January 23, 1944, Ken was the losing goaltender in the most one-sided game in National Hockey
League history. Playing for the Rangers, McAuley allowed fifteen goals (on 58 shots) as New York fell
to the Detroit Red Wings, 15-0, at the Olympia in Detroit.
- On February 3, 1944, Ken was in goal when Detroit's Syd Howe scored six goals in a single National Hockey League game.
