STRENGTHS: Price has excellent agility and quick reflexes. His rebound control is very good, and he is able to read and react quickly.

"A very confident netminder with good lateral movement and strong skating skills, Carey Price uses his size well, staying square and challenging shooters. He has an excellent catching hand and is excellent at controlling rebounds. Price handles the puck well and is good at going behind the net to stop the puck on dump-ins. The highly-touted Price made his National Hockey League debut at Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh on October 10, 2007, and stopped twenty-six Penguin shots in a 3-2 victory. "It hasn't really hit me yet," said Price. "It's pretty exciting." Price said that he was more relaxed for the start than he had been at the World Junior tournament or in the AHL Calder Cup finals.
Price made several key saves, including two saves on Sidney Crosby in a flurry in front of his net, and a big close save on Erik Christensen early in the second. Said captain Saku Koivu: "I thought he really looked confident. And if he was nervous, he didn't show it at all. We took some penalties in the first period so he had to get into the game right away, and he made some key saves, kept us in the game."
