WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING:
"Czech veteran was brought over to adjust to NHL game." (Bruce Garrioch,
The Hockey News Future Watch 2002)
"Prusek was a real surprise last season. He was drafted at age 23 and played
in the Czech Republic before coming over to play in North America. He was an
all-star during his AHL rookie season and won the starting role despite the
Senators having two second-round picks - Chouinard
and Lajeunesse - competing for the same job."
(The Sports Forecaster 2002-03, p. 78)
"After two seasons as the backup to Patrick Lalime in
Ottawa, Prusek became a free agent over the summer and signed with Columbus. He'll
probably get into 25-30 games as the backup to Marc Denis,
and is good enough to start multiple games if the need arises. At 29, Prusek could
be entering his prime." (The Sports Forecaster 2005-06, p. 104)
TRANSACTIONS:
- Selected by Ottawa Senators in sixth round (164th overall) of National Hockey League entry draft, June 26, 1999.

- Signed to one-year contract as unrestricted free agent by Columbus Blue Jackets, August 4, 2005.
ACCOLADES:
- Named to American Hockey League All-Star First Team, 2001-02.
- Shared (with Simon Lajeunesse and Mathieu Chouinard) Harry "Hap" Holmes Memorial Trophy (AHL - fewest goals against), 2001-02.
- Winner, Baz Bastien Memorial Trophy (AHL - Best Goaltender), 2001-02.

- Back spasms; missed four games, December 9, 2003.
- Strained left knee; missed one game, February 24, 2004.
- Sore back; missed three games, March 18, 2004.
FIRSTS:
- Martin made his National Hockey League debut on March 23, 2002, for the Ottawa
Senators against the visiting Atlanta Thrashers. The Sens lost, 3-2 in overtime,
when Atlanta defenseman Andy Sutton sent a wrist shot towards Prusek, who
failed to control the rebound. Freshman Dany Heatley dove to poke the
loose puck between his pads. All told, Martin made twelve saves on fifteen shots.
PENALTY SHOTS:
- Stopped penalty shot (Glen Murray), November 9, 2002.
- Stopped penalty shot (Dave Scatchard), November 12, 2002.
NHL SHOOTOUTS:
