"A big goalie who covers a lot of the net, Tuuka Rask reads the game very well and plays with confidence. He has a good glove, quick reflexes and plays his angles very well. Rask played mainly in the Finnish junior league in 2004-05, but also saw action with Ilves in the Finnish Elite League. He was the number-one Finnish goalie at both the World Junior Championships and the World Under-18 Championship in 2005." (National Hockey League Official Guide and Record Book 2006, p. 228)

Tuukka made his National Hockey League debut on November 20, 2007, at the Air Canada Center, with his Boston Bruins facing the Toronto Maple Leafs, the team which originally drafted Rask back in June of 2006. Rask showed the Maple Leafs what they got rid of, stopping thirty shots in a 4-2 Boston victory. "Of course it means a lot. It was fun to play, to show them that I'm good enough to play at this level", said Rask, who was chosen the top star of the game.
