He tends to play well even after long stints on the bench, and his attitude is excellent. Shtalenkov will team with Khabibulin to form one of the NHL's best goaltending tandems. "Shtalenkov did a fine job early last season with the Coyotes, replacing contract holdout Nikolai Khabibulin, but ended up in Florida when Trevor Kidd was out due to injury.
