• Lefty was the Detroit Red Wings' assistant trainer and practice goaltender. He made his NHL debut in replacement of injured Terry Sawchuk on October 10, 1953 (Montreal 4, Detroit 1). His other two games were finishing for Harry Lumley on January 22, 1956 (Detroit 4, Toronto 1), and for Don Simmons on December 29, 1957 (Boston 2, Detroit 2).
