• Marc-Andre made his National Hockey League debut on October 10, 2003, when the Pittsburgh Penguins faced the Los Angeles Kings at Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh. The first-overall selection in the previous summer's draft, Marc was nearly two months away from his nineteenth birthday. Just thirty-eight seconds into the contest, the Kings' Eric Belanger beat Fleury on a shorthanded breakaway by wristing a shot over his left shoulder. However, after getting beaten on the first shot of his NHL career, Fleury was spectacular the rest of the way, stopping eleven shots in the first period, nineteen in the second, and sixteen in the third. Although the Penguins were outshot, 48-11, the Pens were only down 2-0 when Fleury was pulled for an extra skater. The highlight was when he was presented with the task of stopping a penalty shot with 2:21 remaining in the game. He responded admirably, poking away the puck from fellow rookie Esa Pirnes before the Finn could get off a shot. "It was good to stop it," Fleury said. "I thought I saw where he might go and I went out to beat the shot." "The kid played exceptionally," Penguins superstar Mario Lemieux said. "He showed he's a great talent. The way he played in the first game was everything we hoped for."
• Marc-Andre's first National Hockey League victory came in his very next start, on October 18, 2003, against the Detroit Red Wings at Mellon Arena. Fleury stopped thirty-one Red Wing shots as he outduelled future Hall-of-Famer Dominik Hasek by a 4-3 margin. "Big deal for me to get the win," he said. "I just tried to keep the puck out of the net. I knew our guys would work hard, I have nothing to complain about. They scored four goals."
• In his sixth big-league start, Marc-Andre recorded his first National Hockey League shutout on October 30, 2003, at the United Center in Chicago, where his Penguins blanked the hometown Blackhawks by a very close 1-0 margin. Fleury stopped six shots in the first period, and seven each in the final two, for a twenty-save night including a number of spectacular saves in the third period to preserve the shutout. "I tried not to think about (the shutout), but I have to admit that I was. I was crossing my fingers and I was glad that nothing went by," said Fleury. Fleury was playing on back-to-back nights for the first time in his NHL career. Although he faced an average of 38.2 shots in his first five shots, he fought the notion that he had a relatively easy night. "You still have to stay focused, especially when you're watching. Sometimes when you have more shots, it's easier to stay in the game."

• Marc won his 300th National Hockey League regular season game on November 24, 2014, in a 3-2 overtime victory in Boston over the Bruins. Marc made 27 saves before Evgeni Malkin beat Tuukka Rask to secure the win.

Fleury played the first two periods of the Penguins' 1-0 victory over Montreal (sharing a shutout with Tomas Vokoun), but appeared dazed after Montreal's Brian Gionta pushed Pittsburgh teammate Tyler Kennedy into Fleury during the last minute of the second stanza.
• Left game with eye injury, November 11, 2015. With 4:47 remaining in the first period, Fleury took a stick from Penguins teammate Ben Lovejoy that entered his mask and left a cut below his eye. "[Lovejoy] felt bad a little bit, but that happens I guess," Fleury said. "I was just worried for a [second] because I felt my eye going down. My dad lost an eye to a stick, so I was a little worried. ? It did [get swollen] a little bit, but not that bad." Fleury was replaced by Jeff Zatkoff for 2:10 of game action before returning to the Pittsburgh net.
• Suffered concussion, December 14, 2015. It's unclear when Fleury became injured, but he came to the Penguins' coaching staff after the Penguins' 4-1 loss to Washington. Matt Murray was recalled to back up Jeff Zatkoff for the Penguins' next game on December 16.
• Missed game with illness, February 20, 2016. Fleury was supposed to start Pittsburgh's afternoon game agaisnt the Lightning, but instead backed up Jeff Zatkoff.
• Left game with chin injury, December 17, 2016. At 1:59 of the first period in Pittsburgh's game in Toronto, Fleury was hit in the chin by the skate of Maple Leafs forward James van Riemsdyk. Matt Murray spelled Fleury until 11:14 of the period.
• Left game for undisclosed reasons, March 20, 2018. Malcolm Subban played the final two periods of Vegas' 4-1 win over Vancouver, and Fleury was not on the Golden Knights bench.

• Left game in the second period due to an equipment problem; returned after 5:56, December 13, 2006.
• Missed game on April 22, 2013 to be present at the birth of his child. Tomas Vokoun played for the Penguins, with newly-signed Eric Hartzell recalled to serve as the backup.

• Growing up, Marc-Andre's hockey hero was Martin Brodeur.
• On October 6, 2017, Marc-Andre was the goaltender for the Vegas Golden Knights in their first National Hockey League game. Playing in Dallas, the Golden Knights defeated the Stars 2-1 on the strength of 45 saves from Fleury.
